Solar Panels Prices in Pakistan Updated January 2025
As of January 2025, more and more people in Pakistan are interested in buying and installing solar panels because the prices are the lowest ever in Pakistan. You can start getting a good solar system for as low as 18,000 rupees, and prices can go up to 35,000 rupees for Canadian solar brands. High-quality, double-sided solar panels cost about 28 to 30 rupees per watt. Check out the detailed prices below.

What are the Prices of Solar Panels?
The price of solar panels depends on several variables such as, for example, the number of inhabitants of the house and the average annual consumption. For this reason, it is always important to consult the experts. Below, however, you will find a table with indicative prices for some solutions.
Number of People in the Household | Power Required to Cover Consumption | Number of Panels | Indicative Price Including Installation | Annual Savings on Bills |
1 | 2500 WATT Peak | 8 | Rs. 1000000 | Rs. 100000 |
2 | 3800 WATT Peak | 15 | Rs. 1500000 | Rs. 150000 |
4 | 6200 WATT Peak | 24 | Rs. 2000000 | Rs. 200000 |
Why Install Solar Panels?
Solar panels have found fertile ground in our country: Pakistan has been recognized by the NEECA (https://www.neeca.gov.pk/) as first in the world for the use of solar energy, which covers 8% of its consumption, followed by Asia and Europe. If you want to equip your home with solar panels, you have chosen the perfect moment! The prices of panels, in fact, have dropped year after year. But how much can their installation cost?
What are Solar Panels?
These are technological devices that can exploit solar energy to produce electricity or to heat sanitary water. It indicates different types of similar devices but used for different needs:
- Solar Panels
- Solar Thermal Panels
While the former are used for the production of clean energy, the latter exploit the sun for the production of domestic hot water.
Which System to Choose for Solar Panels?
Now, if your interest converges towards the installation of solar system, price of same essentially depends on the following factors:
- Type of silicon that makes up solar cells: monocrystalline, polycrystalline or amorphous.
- The size of system
It should be kept in mind, in any case, that the choice of the type of panel and size of system are two dependent variables: more energy efficient a system is, the less space it will take up.
Â
Other Solar Panel Variables
Type of material panel is made of is not only aspect that influences size of system. It also depends on two other factors:
- Energy consumption
- Available surface area on roof
Energy consumption depends on the size of your house and the number of people living there. Annual energy consumption of small house with two people is around 3200 kWh. If you now divide this by 0.85 you will get an estimate of the power needed to cover your needs.
For example, if your annual consumption is 3200 kwh, the solar panels will need to be able to cover power of 3800 kwh. To achieve this result, you will need 15 solar panels of 260 WATT Peak. Price will be around Rs. 200000.

Solar System: Operation, Types and Efficiency
How Solar Panels Work
Solar system is composed of modules that convert solar energy into direct current. This is then transformed into alternating current by an inverter.
Types of solar systems
Solar systems can be:
- Isolated (stand-alone)
- Connected to the electricity grid (grid-connected)
Stand-alone systems are not connected to the electricity grid, providing solution in those cases where connection is not possible, such as in mountain refuges.
Grid-connected systems are unlikely to cover the energy needs of family unit, but they can significantly contribute to reducing bills. In cases where the energy generated by the system exceeds the need (which happens more often in the case of industrial warehouses), it can be fed into the grid.
Performance of Solar Panels
Performance of solar panels depends on:
- Type of modules chosen
- Quality of components
- Orientation of panels (optimal orientation is towards the South)
- Inclination of panels (optimal inclination is approximately 30°)
- Absence of shading
- Place of installation (irradiation is greater in Southern Italy and less in the North)
- weather.
Solar Modules
When it comes to modules, the types available on the market are the following:
- Monocrystalline
- Polycrystalline
- With amorphous silicon
Monocrystalline solar panels are the most expensive and the most efficient and are recognizable by their black color. Polycrystalline panels have a simpler and faster production process. For this reason, their cost, as well as their efficiency, is lower than monocrystalline panels. In practice, however, the differences between the two variants are not so excessive – especially in the case of domestic systems and both options are of excellent quality. Polycrystalline panels can have different color variations and are generally blue or purple.
Finally, panels with amorphous silicon are the type with the lowest efficiency and the lowest cost: these do not use silicon crystals like the two previous types, but silicon powder. This makes their structure flexible, an aspect that can be beneficial when installing system. Due to their lower efficiency, they occupy larger surface area than poly and monocrystalline systems. They can be effective in case of high temperatures.

Benefits of Solar Panels
Becoming part of the world of renewables brings countless advantages that affect the family unit as much as the environment in which we live. Solar Panels produces clean energy, without CO2 emissions and reduces our dependence on the price of alternative raw materials on the market. They also lead to tangible reduction in bills and allow us to save money that we can then use for other purposes. In addition, the value of house equipped with solar system increases and this represents a strong point in view of possible future sale.
Solar panels produce clean energy that can also be used by heat pumps: combining these two systems helps you get renewable energy at home and use renewable energy.

Solar Thermal Panels
There is often confusion between solar systems and solar collectors, also known as solar thermal panels. Although both exploit the sun, the latter are used to produce hot water and heat rooms. Solar thermal panels are mainly of two types:
- Glass Planes
- Vacuum Tube
The former have the benefit of being less expensive and are particularly widespread in Pakistan. The latter offer greater performance and are, for this reason, little more expensive.
